Everything here has passed through the stomach of fire.

The kiln is the time machine, the volcano, the temazcal, the sun, the womb. 

The loom is the guardian of time, of the earth's sediment, the registrar, the roots. 

This exhibition includes ceramic vessels, woven objects, clay, and found materials sourced, altered, or departed from thoughts on geological time, transformation, nomadism, ritual, and the body. The works were made between the Mojave Desert, Mexico, and the Midwest through processes of firing, burial, weathering, carrying, staining, erosion, weaving, and waiting. It also includes a new series of ceramic sculptures or small anthropomorphous architectures that operate as chimeneas, guardians, companions, ovens, or vessels themselves.
